I stand alone on this shore
Gazing at the sea, and and far far more
The waves they flow back and forth
Their white topped peaks, ebbing and flowing
Caressing the sand each and every day
May they never go away
Out to sea, there is much more
Plenty for me to see and adore
First I look South, and what do Ispy
A range of mountains in the sky
I guess, I know where this must be
The mountains of Wales, so close to me
Their height so big , it does aspire
Into the sky, higher and higher
Colours of green, brown, yellow to
This is a sight for me and you
Once more I gaze out to sea
More things, to pleasure me
A bird, a plane, passing by so quickly
Further out, I spy a large object in the sky
Ah yes, I know what this thing be
A mighty oil rig in the sea
Those hardy men, toiling all day
Just to earn a decent pay
They work all day for you and me
Producing fuel from the sea
Our lives depend on these brave folks
Further more I do glance
Faraway and by perchance
Standing proud, both day and night
These towers of steel both shiny and bright
Producing power for our light
Round and round they go all day
Hope they never go away
Once more I look North into the yonder
Wondering what my eyes may spy
Ahh, a vision not far from me
A mountain range, so proud and bold
Many a tale have I been told
Character torn with rugged craggs

You are really a very good poet my friend.
ReplyDeleteWow! Really lovely pic you've painted of the mountains in the distance, & the sea closeby!
ReplyDeleteAs the poem is ending, I somehow sense a story about to begin...Amazing work!!
